Learning to be a Pet Grandma

My dog Cissy, my littlest Shih Tzu had her one pup on March 1st. My husband says it looks like a little cow because she is white with a black head and a black spot on her back. She is a tiny little pup, that looked like a baby mouse when she was born on my bed. Yes, Cissy was scared to leave us and naturally since she sleeps with us she wanted to be on the bed panting away. So I put a towel under her and fell asleep for a couple of hours until I heard a squeak. I hurried and turned the light on after reaching down and getting my hand wet. I knelt and looked on in awe for a bit as I watched Cissy turn into a Mama. Then I carefully lifted her and baby and brought her to the pen we had set up for her. Now it is day 11 and baby pup has not opened her eyes yet. She is tubby with squatty little legs. Her face around her eyes has lightened up a little to a yellowish color but she is still black there too. Hubby got the pup baby cereal already but it is too early for that so I have been giving Cissy a bowl of it every morning. She has been very protective and told all the other pets that this is hers and back off. She does not growl at me or nip or anything as she trusts me completely with her. I am a new pet grandma and have never raised a pup before. I have learned everything from the internet. Hubby had a golden retriever that had puppies so he kind of knows but he was a teenager and really didn't raise them, his parents did. I know it is going to be a lot of work changing papers and bedding. I went last weekend and got all pets new chew toys and the pup two new stuffed animals to sleep with, I read that they like that. I will post pics this weekend.
more soon: got to go read the twitters.

Good evening, Val!
I do not write in English, so use the automatic translation to understand you. This text is your beautiful, Val, a wonderful demonstration of love you have for your dog. The description of life with her is beautiful and made me get emotional.
I also got a beautiful bitch for 13 years (she died last year and left a huge void in my heart). I will leave here for you to read a poem that I made for Cherry (was the name of my dog), a beautiful white poodle.
I ask you to excuse my English, Val.
A big hug from whom you admire,
Remisson
CHERRY
Homage to Cherry, my dog estimation, the loyalty of care given to my whole family over thirteen years, without making any claim besides ... Care.

Do not leave for tomorrow the affection that can make today.
Do not leave for tomorrow.
Do not extend the smile, the tightness of hand,
The hug, kiss.
No transfer beyond what can be donated now,
What can be repaid today.
Do not leave for later that will have to do now.
Do not save affection; you add interest
To receive dividends.
Do not wait and not suplique return.
The affection attracts affection.
A smile, another smile.
It is not silent, speak now that phrase, affection,
One word that expresses happiness
Or even that it is true that, before hard,
Necessary.
You smile now, cry today, embrace today, love today,
Giving care today, pray today, ask for forgiveness today,
Forgive today''s work today, to play today.
Do not leave for tomorrow the tears that should fall today,
Because they can dry as the dry bed of the river.
Do not extend to in a moment that is needed
Be done now.
Respect children, the elderly,
Animals, the whole nature.
Whether you today better than yesterday.
Tomorrow may be late.
Then, there will only be what could have been ...
