Zippety Doo Da, Zippety Aye!

http://www.annebradshaw.blogspot.com

I am excited about a few books that are written about a subject that has always fascinated me. Angels, heaven, souls coming to earth, the afterlife, near death experiences, are these things that you would like to read about? Well the blog "Not Entirely British" has invited author "Sarah Hinze" to her blog. She has been kind enough to offer in the contest a copy of each of her two books and a CD recording of a show she did on public radio. The books are "We Lived in Heaven" and "Songs of the Morning Stars".
On family life today I cleaned the house. I got Zeke my German Shepard a bath, went to Wal-Mart and got the dogs some new toys and dog treats that I found for a buck a bag. I also used my coupon I got from Suave for a free bottle of shampoo and I got the $3.00 dollar one! Yippee! Did anyone else notice that the 50lb. bag of dog food is now 40lbs. and for almost the same price the 50lb. one was. What a rip off! I really needed that extra 10lbs. to make it thru the budget I had made. My little dog Cissy is going to be a Mama and I can really feel the baby or babies move on her belly. She is so loving right now.
more soon: off to get me an ice cream bar!

It's A New Day

http://www.annebradshaw.blogspot.com

Just got word of another great book contest at "Not Entirely British" It runs until the 25th of Feb. and the winner gets a copy of award winning author Josi S.Kilpack's latest book "Lemon Tart". The book is the first in a culinary mystery series. The author lives in Utah with her four kids. I had a son in Utah, my first born was born in Tooele,Utah. I know in some parts of Utah you can have horses and farm animals if it was there to begin with, so in major parts of Lehi you can see horses as you cruise down the highway, its crazy but nice. I remember when we visited last and we strolled down the sidewalks and there were roosters and chickens running around in people's yards. My step-Mom lives there and instead of bars on every corner like here in Wisconsin there is a pretty church with a white steeple on every corner it seems.
more soon: got to get my cup of hot tea!

A Few Thoughts

http://www.annebradshaw.blogspot.com

I went to Facebook tonight and saw a book contest that I thought I would share as the book would be helpful no matter what age you are because we all are parents, grandparents, about to be a parent or know all of the above and could give this book to them. It's called "Soft-Spoken Parenting" and is written by Dr.Wallace Goddard. I did have to blog about the book to try and win it but if I don't I will get the book for my friend at work. He adopted recently and as a friend I know he loves to read and has said he wanted to learn to be the best parent he can be for his little girl. I ask you to check out the link to Not Entirely British's blog and see for yourself.
On other things I recently celebrated my birthday. It was Monday and almost a full moon that night. I turned 45. I had red roses from my hubby! Last week was painful as I had an injection in my piriformis muscle which is up by my si joint. The doctor had to keep taking one needle out and numbing me with another needle because I could still feel it bad. She told me I was the first patient she had that had almost broke her needle as my muscle was so tight and hard. Yup I got buns of steel! lol. Anyways, after I went home I had about 4 painful days of recovery. I am on a new medicine since we found this out, I hope it works well. My job is fine with me having to go to therapy and all the appts. recently. I am lucky to have that and a supportive family. The kids did dishes and hubby did laundry while I was stiff ,I feel blessed and am feeling the love tonight.
more soon: have a blessed night with those you love.

Grounded on Ground Hog's Day

Yes I am gonna stay home on Ground Hog's Day. I am trying to get out of debt so I am doing things myself here on the home front. I am clipping more coupons, shopping at Aldi's as it has the cheapest prices on the basics. My husband painted our bathroom and made some shelves himself. I will also make some curtains myself too. I make homemade dog clothes for the Shih Zu's because I refuse to pay $10.00 for a little shirt. I re-use my butter container's for leftovers and coffee containers go into my hubby's shop for all his knick-knacks. I give my dog's leftovers that are healthy for them so they don't eat as much dry food which has gotten way to expensive if you ask me. I hate the way they keep making items smaller but charging us the same price. I try to get the little freebies from the freebie sites and I do enter contests as you never know, someday maybe I will get lucky and win! I must be a little tired of snow as I was out chopping up ice on the driveway like a mad woman today, it was sunny and warm today...a balmy 35.
